Cookie policy

Hey you, yes you! You’re probably not used to anyone actually wanting to read a cookie policy, let alone to feel free to say no. We do. So here it is, in plain language: what cookies we use, why and why we genuinely don’t mind if you decline the ones that aren’t essential.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how NO TO APATHY, UNIPESSOAL LDA uses cookies and similar technologies on our Website, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle your personal data more broadly (same values, same approach, just a different layer of detail).

2. What are cookies, quickly

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Some are needed to make the site work at all. Others so embedded content from other platforms can run on our pages, and those ones are entirely optional, no matter what some websites might lead you to believe.

3. Our Stance in one paragraph

We could quietly benefit from non-essential cookies- better looking embeds, slicker social content, maybe a bit more reach. We’ve decided that’s not worth more than your right to browse without being tracked if you’d rather not be. So we ask first, we make declining just as easy as accepting and nothing changes about how our Website or shop works for you either way.

4. The Two types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies. These are the cookies that keep our Website actually working. They don’t track you, profile you or follow you anywhere else. Because they’re strictly necessary for the service you’ve asked for, EU and Portuguese law (Lei n.º41/2004, transposing the ePrivacy Directive) doesn’t require us to ask your permission for these- there’s genuinely nothing optional about them.

Non-essential cookies, entirely your call. These come from social media content we embed directly on our pages- right now Instagram and TikTok, with Youtube possibly joining later. They’re not needed for our Website to work. That’s why we only load them, and let Meta, TikTok or Google set them, after you actively click “Accept” on our cookie banner. We encourage you to click “Decline”, or just close the banner.

5. Cookie table

No vague language, no buried details. Here’s exactly what’s out there and what it does:

Durations above are typical ranges published by each platform and may change at their discretion. Once you've accepted a non-essential cookie, what Meta, TikTok, or Google do with that data is governed by their own policies, not ours — we'd encourage you to take a look if you're curious.

6. Declining is easy on purpose

When you first land on our Website, our cookie banner gives you a real choice: Accept or Decline. We're not going to pretend one button is bigger than the other or bury "Decline" in a settings menu three clicks deep — that's the kind of trick we'd rather not play on you. Changed your mind later, either way? Clear your browser's cookies for our site and revisit — the banner will show up again. You can also block or delete cookies directly through your browser settings at any time; just know that blocking the strictly necessary ones may stop parts of our shop, like checkout, from working properly.

7. Links to Other Websites

We share articles, link to institutions, and point you toward organisations doing good work — that's kind of the point of what we do. Once you click through to one of those external sites, though, you're on their turf, governed by their own rules. We're not responsible for their cookies or privacy practices, so it's worth a quick look at their policies if you're sharing anything personal there.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever add or remove embedded content on our Website, we'll update this page to match — the "Last Time Edited" date above tells you when that last happened. And if we ever introduce a new non-essential cookie, you'll be asked first, every time. That's not a one-off promise, it's how we intend to keep doing this.
